Rumblings of Discontent

We are starting to hear at my
workplace that there may be
layoffs soon.
We thought we were pretty well
insulated from the economic
downturn, but I guess not.
It is difficult for families. Many
of my friends have adult children
who are moving back home, and
out of work or looking for work.
Even the adult children in graduate
school and college are now worried
that they may not be able to renew
their student loans.
It is so stressful with all the rumors
flying about the office. How do I know
what is true and what is just paranoia?
Maybe we are all ok and some worry
warts are just over-reacting when
the business stock sale price takes
a beating in the market. I do not
know.
Personally I do not want to overreact,
but then on the other hand, I want to
have time to get prepared for whatever
news is actually coming down the
road.
